Infection prevention standards in Electrolysis are designed to protect both the client and practitioner from blood-borne pathogens and other infections. Most professional guidelines are based on CDC “Standard Precautions,” meaning every client is treated as potentially infectious.
CORE INFECTION PREVENTION PRINCIPLES
Our hair removal equipment is top-of-the-line, ensuring a safe and effective hair removal experience. We use the latest technology and techniques to provide our clients with the best possible results.
HAND HYGIENE AND PERSONAL PROTECTION
Proper handwashing is the single most effective means of infection control and must be done before and after services.
We wear non-sterile disposable gloves during electrolysis treatments.
STERILIZATION OF INSTRUMENTS
Needles that penetrate soft tissue are pre-sterilized, disposable, and single-use only.
Tweezers must be cleaned and sterilized before first use and after each client.
We use FDA-regulated sterilizers with chemical indicators on each package and biological testing at least monthly.
CLEANING & ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS
Ultrasonic cleaners, forceps, and soaking containers are cleaned and dried daily and maintained per manufacturer instructions.
Treatment surfaces must be disinfected daily and whenever visibly contaminated.
Equipment and furniture should have smooth, cleanable surfaces, with hot and cold water readily available.
ADDITIONAL PROFFESIONAL GUIDANCE
Treatment rooms must be clean, ventilated, orderly, and sanitary.
All equipment is cleaned and sterilized before use, with autoclave or dry heat sterilization required for tools such as tweezers.
